IODA PROVIDES DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES FOR ONE OF SCOTLAND’S LARGEST MUSIC COMPANIES
London, England and Dundee, Scotland — June 5th, 2008 — P3 Music, one of Scotland’s largest independent music companies today announced its digital distribution deal with IODA, the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry. The news was announced from GoNorth, Scotland’s music industry conference and showcase event where it was confirmed that P3 Music will tap into IODA's network of more than 350 digital retailers, mobile outlets and subscription services worldwide to expand its current digital distribution reach and will use IODA's innovative content management platform, the Dashboard, to manage sales from select accounts.
P3 Music is a UK-based, independent music company encompassing record labels, music publishing and artist management. Founded in 2001 the company’s main office is in Dundee, a city originally known for jute and journalism but more recently bio-technology and the computer games industry. The company has two record labels; P3 Music Label, which specializes in established artists and The Guitar Label, which is a boutique label for some of the World’s greatest guitarists. To date the company has worked with artists including Deacon Blue, Martin Taylor, Jeff Beck, Bill Wyman and Jamie Cullum. Last year Isle of Man based private equity firm took a 50% stake in the company and aggressive growth for the business is planned.
As one of the first companies in Scotland to offer its music through a network of online retail partners, P3 Music has been active in having its artists promoted and distributed online for several years. Deacon Blue will perform all concerts with the exception of the Glasgow SECC on 4th December. Simple Minds will perform New Gold Dream in its entirety for the very first time.
