Guitar Label showcase in Glasgow

Glasgow will play host to a showcase concert by boutique record company The Guitar Label on the 15th November 2009. As part of the Big Guitar Weekend organised at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama there will be a Guitar Label showcase concert of some of their artists including Martin Taylor, Clive Carroll, MiLi and Marcus Bonfanti. The event is sponsored by Scottish based social networking site www.iTalkguitar.com and will be the first time that The Guitar Label have brought some of their artists together under the same roof. Scottish record company 'The Guitar Label' is fast becoming the home of great guitar music and this show will present an evening featuring four of its leading artists. Other guitarists that have recorded for the label include Steve Howe of YES, Martin Carthy, Preston Reed, Martin Simpson, Albert Lee and Juan Martin.
Award winning guitarist MARTIN TAYLOR has established a unique career as an internationally acclaimed musician, and his inimitable style has seen him recognised as the world's foremost exponent of solo jazz guitar playing.
CLIVE CARROLL has been described by Acoustic Guitar magazine as 'Probably the Best and Most Original Young Acoustic Guitar Player and Composer in Britain' and his collaborations have included touring with Ralph Towner and Tommy Emmanuel.
The Independent on Sunday recently said 'If there is a gap between Seasick Steve and Jack Johnson, Bonfanti is the person to plug it' and MARCUS BONFANTI, with his trusty Hummingbird Acoustic, Stomp box, Harmonica and incredible voice, is leading the way for a new generation of Blues artists.
The vibrancy and passion of MILI's playing coupled with the depth of her compositions have made her one of classical guitars fastest rising stars and already she has worked with Jose Carreras, Tommy Emmanuel and John Renbourn. A truly unmissable concert.
